Light and Shadow

A wedding at the Marina in Albufeira, Portugal — a place where every building is painted in bold, vibrant colours, each one different from the next.
After noticing the line of shadow cutting perfectly across the façades, I knew the shot had to be from above. I needed height, perspective, geometry. The kind of image you don’t improvise — you chase it.
We didn’t have access to any terrace, but that didn’t stop us. We went door to door, ringing bells, trying our luck, until finally one of the residents opened up and gave us access to the rooftop.
That’s where this frame happened.
