Mujahid Ur Rehman
I am affectionately known as Muji, and this is my preferred name. I am a travel, landscape, and street photographer, filmmaker, photography instructor, and writer based in Cape Town.
My creative journey began in 2006 when I purchased my first camera with my first salary, after years of collecting images of other photographers, printing them, and sticking them on my wall. That wall was my escape from the grinding routine of the corporate world.
Combining my love for nature with visual storytelling, I developed a passion for capturing the evolving colours and textures of landscapes, while also documenting urban life through street photography and portraiture.
After 20 years in the corporate world, I left my job as a Software Architect in 2024 and began my professional career, having previously practised photography and filmmaking semi-professionally in my spare time. I currently share my creative process and insights through multiple channels, including my personal blog, newsletter, YouTube, and social media platforms.
My goal is to inspire others to appreciate and protect the natural world while pushing creative boundaries in photography, filmmaking, and writing.
Drop me a message if you want to connect, especially if you are visiting Cape Town. If possible, I would meet for coffee (decaf is not coffee, but we can still be friends 🙂).
