Golden Rock at sunset. There is much to admire in Myanmar (Burma). For example the “Golden Rock”. Between Bago and Tathon lies the small town of Kyaikhtyio, where the ascent to the Kyaikhtyio Pagoda begins. It is also known as the “Golden Rock Pagoda”. The pagoda itself is only about 5 meters high and balances on a golden rock. According to Burmese belief, this rock is kept in balance by three hairs of Buddha. The pagoda is one of the largest Buddhist shrines in Myanmar.
