First Sunset at Quiraing

This photo was taken in September 2024 in the Quiraing area on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. It’s my first image from this spot and also the first sunset I experienced and photographed here. Quiraing is easy to reach by car, but the road leading up is narrow with small passing places, so patience and caution are essential — getting a flat tire here is not unusual. Fortunately, nothing like that happened to us (at least not here). At the end of the road, there’s a paid car park with a small refreshment stand.
Quiraing is part of the Trotternish Ridge on the Isle of Skye and is one of the most famous tourist areas on the island, known for its dramatic landscape and iconic rock formations.
During my stay on Skye in September, I returned to Quiraing several times, but I didn’t have much luck with good light or conditions. That’s one of the reasons I plan to come back. There’s something about this landscape that pulls you back.
