Closing Time

I was recently hired to photograph this restaurant for the architecture firm that designed it. For this bar shot, I wanted to get the whole thing in frame without being too wide. So, I shot it with my 35mm tilt shift. This is made up of 3 images, 1 shifted down, one shifted to the left, and one shifted up, all merged together in lightroom to create a panorama of sorts. I bracketed my shots so I had panoramas of different exposures.

Once I had the panoramas I took a darker exposure and a bright exposure and opened them as layers in photoshop. I meticulously painted in the parts from the bright exposure I wanted in to my dark exposure. After it was blended the way I wanted I did a few other color, saturation, and exposure adjustments using an assortment of different layers. And this was the final result. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Hopefully my client will be as well.
