The BnF Museum in Paris encompasses the entire spectrum of the library's collections, from antiquity to the present day. Rare, moving, and surprising pieces are exhibited along a tour through the most beautiful rooms of the Richelieu grounds. From books to manuscripts, jewelry, coins and medals, maps and plans, musical scores, prints, posters, costumes, and photographs—nearly 900 exceptional works await discovery in the heart of Paris.
The first wing of the museum, which leads from the Hall of Columns to Louis XV's living room with its magnificent rock decor from the King's cabinet, presents permanent antiquities collections. The Galerie Mazarin, a showcase of Baroque furnishings, displays ecclesiastical treasures, works on paper, and audio and visual recordings. At the end of the Glass Gallery, in the Richelieu Wing, the Rotunda focuses particularly on the performing arts in all their dimensions. Due to the fragility of certain works, some of the pieces exhibited in the Galerie Mazarin and the Rotunda are renewed every four months. A new thematic presentation offers a different perspective on the library's collections each year.
