A view into the Grand Foyer.
The Opéra Garnier in Paris, also known as the Palais Garnier, opened in 1875 and is located on the right bank of the Seine in the 9th arrondissement. It is named after its architect, Charles Garnier. Since the opening of the Opéra Bastille in 1989, the Opéra Garnier has been used primarily for ballet performances by the in-house Ballet de l'Opéra de Paris.

Herbert, wonderful Black and White image! I recognize the location from a colour version you posted several months ago. Is this a new image or a B&W conversion of the other upload?

Thank you so much, Paul, for your kind comment. You're absolutely right. I've already uploaded this image in color. For my black and white version, I completely re-edited the image, including using tools from DxO. I wish you a happy Easter.

Best regards, Herbert

Herbert, like wise happy Easter too.
As usual a wonderful piece of work, I was just curious in that I thought I recognised the composition.
I was told years ago that a good color photograph often translates well to Black and White. And as you did starting over for the B&W yields better results than a conversion from a "finished color" file.
Best to you and yours :)! Paul
